Scribner CO₂ Electrolyzers Test Station, Coupled with Online Gas Chromatographer, Mass Spectroscopy and FTIR

Scribner CO₂ Electrolyzers Test Station, Coupled with Online Gas Chromatographer, Mass Spectroscopy and FTIR

The 670 Electrolysis Workstation is a turn-key, customizable platform that can accommodate both liquid and gas on one or both of the electrodes. It boasts a multi-range, high current (±20 Amp) potentiostat for high accuracy over a broad range of reaction rates and cell sizes. Included in the system is the powerful, user friendly FlowCell® software for system operation and experimentation. Many accessory options so you can make this system work for you and your research. Perfect for Electrolysis and Desalination by Capacitive Deionization studies.

Power-to-Fuels & Power-to-Chemicals

  • CO2 Reduction
  • Low Temperature CO & Syngas Production
  • Electrochemical Ammonia Synthesis
  • Organic Electrosynthesis

The system is coupled with Scion GC analyzer, a preconfigured Gas Chromatography Analyzers – Tailored for Specific Applications and Standard Methods relating to the study of CO2 reduction reaction. The second line (one of the two CO2 electrolyzers) is equipped with GC-MS to mainly study liquid products coming from the electrolyzer. GC-MS is used to separate and analyze compounds in a mixture, while Mass Spectrometry is used to identify the chemical structure of these compounds. When combined, GC-MS allows for the separation, identification, and quantification of complex mixtures of chemicals. With powerful data processing capabilities and excellent sensitivity, precision and accuracy, GC-MS has become the go-to technique and a valuable tool in various industries.

These lines are also connected to an FTIR for further study of the reaction products.
