Bar-Ilan University

Dr. Hannah-Noa Barad completed her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Chemistry at Bar-Ilan University, Israel, where she worked on all-oxide-based solar cell systems using combinatorial materials science methods. After completing her Ph.D., she moved to the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Stuttgart, Germany. Her work focused on methods for fabrication of nanostructured materials. She was supported by the Minerva Foundation fellowship and the Israeli Committee for Higher Education postdoctoral award. Hannah-Noa returned to establish and lead the Multinary Materials Systems for Energy and Sustainability group at Bar-Ilan University. In her lab, she focuses on investigation of multinary (many element) materials that are used for the formation of sustainable fuels, added-value chemicals, and energy production. She is a board member of Israel Electrochemical Society (ISEL), and treasurer of the Israel Electrochemical Society (ECS) chapter. She leads the joint Chemistry Department and Interdisciplinary School of Sustainability and Environment, graduate program for energy and sustainability. She is in close collaboration with and advises several startup and large companies on projects related to the development of new materials for energy sustainable solutions.
